Lester Ruth Thames

Lester Ruth Thames, 76, of Louisville, MS., passed on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at his home. Funeral Service will be Friday, December 27, 2024 at 2 p.m., from Warren Chapel Church of God in Christ, 314 Pond Avenue, Louisville, MS. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 6 p.m. from the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Friendship M. B. Church Cemetery, Gholson, MS. Beck Funeral Home of Louisville in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thames was born to the parents of Willie Rew Thames and Ethel Mae Harrison Thames in Neshoba County Mississippi on July 22, 1948.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, grandsons, Patrick Thames and Tyconan Estes; siblings, John Hester Thames, David C. Thames , Lenard Thames, Veterine Thames, Flora Rene Thames and Willie Sue Coleman.

Lester is survived by his loving wife, Ada Mae Thames ;daughter, Ethel (Dreyxell) Nicholson;  sons, Lester Earl Thames, of Louisville, MS., Robert Lee Shell of Walnut Grove, MS, and his nephew whom he raised as his son, Marcus (Danna) Thames of Arizona; 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; siblings, Ethel (Craig) Harwell, Willie J. (Ethel) Thames, Fredrick Thames and Amos Thames all of Louisville, MS. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
