Lula Sherrod

Mrs. Lula Sherrod, 81, of Philadelphia, Mississippi passed on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from her residence in Neshoba County, Mississippi.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 25, 2025, from Mt. Ary M.B Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi.  Burial will follow in Mt. Ary M.B. Church Cemetery in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. Friday, January 24, 2025, from Beck Funeral Home Philadelphia. Beck Funeral Home Philadelphia is in charge of all arrangements.

Lula "Peden" Sherrod was born to the late Solar Peden and Carries "Tartt" Peden on March 21, 1943 in Dekalb, Mississippi.

Lula attended Booker T. Washington School in Philadelphia, MS, later after finishing school she moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she met the love of her life Posey Sherrod in 1963 to whom she joined in holy matrimony in November of 1965. While  living in Cleveland, Ohio she was employed at a daycare for several years.  Lula hobbies were baking , taking care of kids, traveling and dressing fashionable.  She later moved back to Mississippi where she was an active member of Mt. Ary M.B. Church and was apart of the usher board.

Lula leaves her memories to be cherished by a special niece Winter Reynolds of Philadelphia, MS; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives friends, and God children.

Pallbearers are Jalyas Winters, Pervis Dunn, Jeremy Carothers, Justin Coleman, Marcus Carothers and Wayne Hoskins.

Pastor Ricardus Mixon is the officiate of services.

Lula Sherrod is preceded in death by her husband, Posey Sherrod; sisters, Sallie Stokes, Ruby Dunn, and Annie Clemons.
