Mattie Sue Houston

Mrs. Mattie Sue Houston was born on November 19, 1950 to the late Mr. Haze McClendon and the late Mrs. Lula McClendon.  She leaves her cherished memories to her husband of 43 years Elder Henry Lee Houston.  Three children; Beatrice Johnson of Milwaukee, WI, Gerald McClendon (Rachel) Philadelphia, MS, Charles Triplett, Jr. (Keri) Frisco, TX, Derall Houston, and Jaedan Houston both of Philadelphia, MS; Three step children, Tiffany Houston Tucker who preceded her in death, Daphne Houston, and Luquanda Carter (Chad) both of Philadelphia, MS; Sisters,  Robin Miller preceded her in death, Mrs. Bonnie Moore (Gerald), and Ms. Shirley McClendon both of Philadelphia, MS; Brothers, Haze McClendon, John Earl Hopson, Rodney McClendon all preceded her in death.  She leaves twenty  grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews.  

She retired in 2005 from Walmart and was an active member of Jerusalem Temple Church until  her health began to fail.

Mattie Sue Houston, 73 passed on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from her residence in Neshoba County, Mississippi.  Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 27, 2024 from Jerusalem Temple Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi.  Burial will follow in Donald Rest Cemetery in Philadelphia, Mississippi.  Visitation will be held 1:00 P.M. - 1:45 P.M. for the General Public on Monday, May 27, 2024 from Jerusalem Temple Church.  Beck Funeral Home Philadelphia is in charge of all arrangements.
