Sadie Elizabeth Rush

Sadie Elizabeth Warren-Lyons-Rush left this earth to accept her wings at the gates of Heaven on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the Neshoba County Nursing Home in Philadelphia, MS.  She was born on October 27, 1933 in Philadelphia, MS to Iona Clemons and Mance Warren who preceded her in death.

Sadie Elizabeth was employed with the Neshoba County Health Department for 20 years.  After retirement she worked at Exhibit Hall Head Start Center in Philadelphia, MS as a teacher's assistant and a bus monitor..  She often spoke of how much she enjoyed working with children.  Her home was always a fun cheerful place.  Sadie had a great sense of humor and her personality could light up a room.  She loved her Grandchildren and no matter what happened, she didn't want the Grand kids to get a spanking at her house.  The Grandkids spent many evenings people watching on the carport with Mam Liz.  In 2008 Sadie Elizabeth became a resident of the Neshoba County Nursing Home where she remained until her passing.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Oliver Lee Lyons, second husband, George Rush, Jr., two daughters,  Nina Kay Lyons and Alice Faye Warren Pickens, Brother Willie Mack and Grandsons Tommie Lee Warren and Marcus Bates.

She leaves to cherish her memories six Children, Edna Pickens-Friend (Abraham) of Ripley, TN, Tyrone Welch (Romano) of Saint Louis, MO, Randy Pickens of Philadelphia, MS, Jo Hellen Lyons-Graham (Johnny) of Philadelphia, MS, Randolph Lyons (Dorothy) of Philadelphia, MS, Norman Lee Warren-Lyons (Ruth) of Philadelphia, MS; 19 Grand Children, 34 Great Grand Children, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

Pastor Michael Pickens is the officiate of services.  Grandsons are pallbearers.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 15, 2025, from Mt. Nebo M.B. Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi.  Burial will follow in Donald Rest Cemetery in Philadelphia, Mississippi.  Visitation will be held 1:00 P.M. - 1:45 P.M. Saturday, March 15, 2025, from Mt Nebo M.B. Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi. A Public Viewing will not be held for the General Public. Beck Funeral Home Philadelphia is in charge of all arrangements.
