Walter " Dodge" Howard Fowler, 90,of Philadelphia, MS passed on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from his residence in Neshoba County, Mississippi.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 14, 2024, from Beck Funeral Home Chapel of Philadelphia.  Burial will follow in New Prospect M.B. Church Cemetery in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. - 10:45 A.M. Saturday, December 14, 2024 from Beck Funeral Home Philadelphia.  Beck Funeral Home Philadelphia is charge of all arrangements.

Walter Howard Fowler affectionately known as “Dodge” was born on April 18, 1934 to the union of the late Walter and Hattie Louise Fowler. He professed his faith in Christ at an early age and united with New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Laurel Hill, MS. Upon relocating to Milwaukee, WI, he united with Goodway Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Later he attended New Restoration Christian Church as well.

Walter began his formal education at Cedar Grove Elementary School in Philadelphia, Mississippi. He graduated from Beashie High School om April 22, 1955.

He met and married his partner for life Ethel Mae Langton in l960. To this union, five children were born.

Walter was a hard-working individual who began his work history as an employee at Neese’s Lumber Yard in Carthage, MS as a fork-lift operator and truck driver. He also worked at Moplus Lumber Yard in Forest, MS as well. In 1977, he moved to Milwaukee, WI and sought employment with General Split Corporation. He was also employed at Pfister and Vogel Tannery where he worked diligently until his retirement.

After retirement just to keep himself busy, he continued to work odd end jobs as a mechanic and assisted others in the capacity of salvage removal and recovery.

Walter was a man of wisdom who was devoted to all those he encountered. He was known for being a great provider and helping others in any way that he could. He loved working on cars and using his hands as a repairman. Walter also had a love for gospel music

especially Willie Banks & the Messengers, and the Clark Sisters. He enjoyed traveling to visit his sisters and family in the south as well. In his leisure time, he loved fishing, studying his Sunday school lesson, and spending time with his grandchildren /great- grandchildren.

Walter departed this life on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Walter & Hattie Fowler; four sisters, Etherlene Brown, Genotra Floyd, Walterine Bowie, and Bonnie Carter; two brothers, Otho Fowler and Jack Vaxter; and one son, Howard Lavon Fowler.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Ethel Mae Fowler of Philadelphia, MS; two sisters, Rena Mae Stribling of Philadelphia, MS and Hazel McGee of Chicago, Illinois; four daughters: Dorothy Fowler of Philadelphia, MS, Denise (Tony) Johnson, Deloise Fowler, and Yolanda Fowler all of Milwaukee, WI; four grandsons, Antione (Vinyette) Fowler, Antonio Johnson, James Johnson, and Bryson Fowler of Milwaukee, WI; two granddaughters, Tamillia (Charles) Mason, and Bre’Ana Fowler of Milwaukee, WI; nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews & friends.
